Friends ask me why I drive from East Ocean View to Yorktown, navigating an almost-always dicey tunnel both ways to take my many animals to a vet. The answer is very simple - the absolute best companion animal care I could ever imagine. Moving to Hampton Roads 12 years ago with 16 animals, a huge priority for me was finding a vet practice I could trust as much as I had trusted my vet in northeast Ohio. After a couple of less than positive experiences elsewhere, a friend suggested YVH. I don't even remember what animal I took my first time, but immediately I knew it would always be worth the trip. My commitment to this team has never wavered, from the vets, to techs, to all support staff. I count many of them among my friends and I know they all care about my animal family. Most vets lose their minds when discovering how I have chosen to feed my crew; this team acknowledges that while I am definitely not an expert, I have very specific and unwavering views of how I care for them. They could lecture and argue but I am always given respect. Their prices are reasonable and their hearts huge. Love them like family.

Excellent. I love how they take care about my Yorkie. I am able to call if sick and they do not hesitate to talk to me or squeeze him if needed. The doctors and staff are knowledgeable, wonderful and caring. I am so happy I chose them for my pet care and overall health.

I love every single worker at this vet hospital, from the front desk staff, to the techs, to the veterinarians themselves. They have been so kind to my cats over the last 20 years, and they were especially kind when I had to euthanize my precious Kato last week. I can't say enough about the level of care my pets have received. This is a compassionate, caring, professional hospital, with very high standards. Dr. Weidinger and the staff are just AWESOME with not only my two feline furry babies (Buddha-Man & Wackadoodle), but also with ME - the Over-Anxious Cat Mama type. Dr. Weidinger will always give me a range of treatment options she's considering and she takes careful time to address all of my questions and concerns about anything and everything. I appreciate that she actively includes me in all treatment decisions - unlike experiences I've had with other vets that try to "pressure" or "promote" services or tests or products that my cats may not really need. Because she - and all the staff! - are so thorough, compassionate, considerate, accommodating, and flexible, I trust that they all have only my cats' best interests at heart. Other favorite aspects: Saturday hours; will almost always "squeeze us in" in an emergency; always makes follow-up calls after any procedure; sends me reminders of appts or shots coming due (or are past due); and pricing is reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
