Radiography

Radiography (the process of taking "x-rays") is a frequently used diagnostic tool which provides our veterinarians with a view of the internal organs and skeletal system. We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded to the use of digital radiography to perform x-rays. Digital x-rays are superior in clarity and quality, which means that we can see tiny abnormalities that would have been difficult to see on traditional x-rays. Animals like digital x-rays because they don't have to lay still as long, and owners like them because the x-rays can be viewed almost instantly on the computer monitor right in the exam room (no more waiting for the x-rays to "develop")! The other advantage to digital x-ray is that the x-ray images can be emailed, or put on a CD for the owner to keep or take to specialists when needed.

To ensure the safety of our team, our x-ray room has lead-lined walls and our staff wear protective gear during the x-ray procedure. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow owners to be present in the x-ray room while the x-rays are taken.
